The Top Three Comfortable Shoe Brands for Chefs

By

As anyone who makes a living on their feet knows, the only thing more important than being good at your job is being comfortable doing it. If your body hurts, your work suffers, it's as simple as that. And one of the best ways to take care of your body when you are on your feet all day is by wearing comfortable, supportive shoes. This is especially true for cooks, who are literally on their feet eight to ten hours at a time, handling and preparing hundreds of meals a day.

Here we'll look at the top three most comfortable shoes for chefs, who simply must have the best in footwear.

Dansko shoes

Dansko Shoes: Designed specifically for the need of professionals who are on their feet all day, Dansko's chef shoes are specifically designed to contour to the natural shape of the foot - this provides unparalleled support for the foot, and therefor to the legs and back. With the seal of acceptance from the American Podiatric Medical Association, as well as the testimonials of millions of happy wearers, Danskos are one of the best known brands of professional shoes. And an added bonus is that Danskos come in a huge variety of colors and styles, to suit the style of every chef!

Keen shoes

Keen Shoes: While Keens are best known for the excellence of their outdoor shoes, you might be surprised to learn that Keen also offers excellent shoes for those in the culinary world. With compression molded footbeds, patented toe guards and rubber soles, their chef shoes are a great alternative for those who want support equivalent to that of Danskos, without the height. Keen's are available in slip on and tie up styles, as well as in both men's and women's sizes.

Crocs shoes

Crocs Shoes: With as many different styles and colors as there are ways to prepare chicken, Crocs brand chef shoes are a third hugely popular brand of shoes for those who work in the kitchen all day. With a footbed designed to mold to the unique shape of the wearers foot, Crocs have an advantage that Danskos and Keens don't - they can be worn by every cook, from those with high arches to those with no arches at all. And because they are flexible, they allow the foot to move easily, for maximum comfort. And with plenty of closed toed styles (no, every single pair does not have those holes in them!), they can safely be worn in the kitchen.

i am currently wearing crocs very confortable when you put them on but theres a but a huge but the base sole gets clogged up very fast making them not so good and you need to give them a hose at least 4-5 times a day in order for them to remain non stick and supportive

Wearing uncomfortable or ill fitting shoes over a long period of time can injure your feet and affect your posture. So always use the comforty footwear.
